PROVING GROUNDS 2014
WHO IS WHO????
I want to shed light on the up and comers of the 2013/2014 Class. This in my opinion is the best class of battlers to date and we all should thank Norbes for that. He has been listening to the fans, traveling all over the country to hand pick these talented individuals. I myself try to keep up with all of these guys but I can't. I have made a list of who I believed was the contenders to be official members of the class. Obviously some guys have already made it and sometime some people just don't get past one or two battles. I have a list here of all the names of the people who I believe are in the Class of 2014. please don't crucify me if you feel I left someone out just hit me up and ill add them to the list.
OFFICIAL PROVING GROUND SPITTERS OF 2014:
Ty Law
Sno
Ah Di Boom
Prez Mafia
Danny Myers
BATTLERS WHO ARE IN THE CLASS OF 2014 (PG's) (I'M NOT SURE IF THEY WILL HAVE MORE BATTLES)
Steams
KG The Poet
Ha Double
Mr. Wavy
Anubis
Jay Rell
Conya Raw
Illanoiz
D Money
D Money
Brooklyn Carter
Yung Mose
SIDE NOTE: RUM NITTY SHOULD BE ON TOP OF THIS LIST!
I hope no one takes offense to this list I made. The 4 guys that I deemed official members of the GRADUATING class of 2014 are guys that i know will continue to be booked on the URL stage. Ty law already has battle(s) booked and I believe Ah Di Boom does as well. Sno will definitely be on the URL stage again and Danny Myers and forcefully made himself and threat and there's no way he will not be on the URL stage. Prez Mafia is a well rounded rapper and I can't see him not being on the URL stage again. All these guys im sure will be battling on the URL for years to come.
The other guys i'm not to sure of. Steams is my favorite on the PG's next to Ty Law and Prez Mafia. I hope like hell he does make it and continues to kill the competition. I believe he said on twitter that he is in a PG event coming up battling Anubis. KG The Poet has a bigger buzz than the rest of the Unofficial members and he is on the UFF along with Ty Law, Sno, Ah Di Boom, Prez Mafia, Danny Myers and Ha Double. All the UFF guys should be considered official members but i left KG and Ha Double off the official list for a reason. KG battles alot on KOTD and i'm not sure if he will be a URL spitter because of this. It takes a demand from the URL audience for them to keep booking you and i'm not to sure if he is top priority for URL. Ha Double to me isn't as talked about as the Official guys. I haven't heard much of him (that doesn't mean anything) he is from New Orleans and he has a sound like B Magic w/o the punchlines. I think he has a few things to work on but its possible the URL will keep booking him and since he is on UFF his name might get bigger. Mr. Wavy is NICE! I don't know why he isn't on UFF but he is nice. He put on a great battle vs Ah Di Boom and he has a battle against Prez Mafia I've been waiting to see. I feel like him and Steams fall into the same category that they just might not have a big enough fan base or buzz as the official guys but they need to be brought back. O.O.W will campaign for Steams to have a main stage battle if it takes that! The rest of the guys I named I can't really speak on because I know little about them. Jay Rell has a big buzz and he might be on the UFF i'm not sure. He has a funny presence and his battle vs Ty Law was dope. I feel he has a good chance of being invited back on the URL. As I said I don't know much about the rest of these guys.
O.O.W will be making a article about each rapper on this list. It will be called WHO IS ___________? I will be trying to shed as much light as possible on the MC's. First off will be Ty Law and it will go from there. I am trying my absolute best I can to devote as much time to gain exposure for these MC's. That is why you may see other things posted on my site covering WWE, Sports and other miscellaneous things. It brings traffic to the site and I hope that the traffic that comes in will read a article or watch a battle of Steams or Ty Laws and maybe they'll gain a fan. I'm here to support battle rap as a movement. Hit my twitter @OppositeOfWack to speak with me.
BATTLES
5 BATTLES THAT WILL GET YOU IN TUNE WITH THE PG CLASS OF 2014:
#1 STEAMS vs AH DI BOOM (CERTIFIED CLASSIC)
This is my favorite PG battle this year and possibly my favorite period. It has the same classic feel that Qleen vs B Magic has. Steams comes with a extremely diverse lyrical style that you won't be able to understand if your not focused. Ah Di Boom is all performance but he brought his bars with him. Ah Di Boom might be the most recognized out of the PG Class but Steams showed him who he was. If I had to pick a winner I'd choose Steams 2-1 in a classic but after a battle like this i feel they both won.
#2 TY LAW vs JAY RELL
I chose this battle because I already posted Ty Law vs Sno. I felt in this battle you got the best out of both the MC's and it made for a great battle. I edge this to Ty Law but you can get a good understanding of who both MC's are.
#3 SNO vs KG THE POET
For this battle I felt it was another great showing on both sides. I edged the win to KG The Poet but on the first watch I thought Sno took it. Sno is definitely going to be a URL star.
#4 PREZ MAFIA vs D MONEY
I'll keep this short and simple. I liked this battle but I feel Prez Mafia clearly won this. D Money did his thing but Prez was a better man that night. This battle is necessary to watch to know who Prez Mafia is.
#5 CONYA RAW vs YUNG MOSE
Last but not least I put this battle up. I felt Conya Raw got the edge here but i thought it was a great overall battle. It is better than #4 but Prez Mafia's performance made the battle go up. Conya Raw is going to be a problem. He already has called out Rosenburg Raw and Raw accepted it. Lets see if it pops off!
Im closing out on this article. But before I go I will post Danny Myers vs Rum Nitty again. Rum Nitty deserves to be on the PGs but judging from his backstage interview after his Tycoon Tax battle he is staying loyal to KOTD. I am posting this battle because it shows you who Danny Myers is and it is overall a classic bout. I'll have more to come on the Proving Grounds!
